Friday will be a 5 hour session with the last 1/2-1 hour being a master class.

Saturday

9-11 AM                                      Aine Minogue
“HARP FOR HEALING; HARP FOR GRIEF”
There is a body of music in Irish tradition dedicated to dealing with grief and loss…the “Celtic Blues”.  Like the blues, this music was not intended to make you sad, but, inevitably in life you will be sad and this is the companion music for those times.

This session will trace simple keening, to more formalized keening, to simple folk laments, to formal laments.  These are the slow airs played with a free form.  Liberation from the bar lines.

Sunday

8:15–11:15 AM SCOTTISH TECHNIQUES
Heather Yule
Again, if you register early enough, you can let us know what facets of Scottish music you would like Heather to address and she will tailor her teaching to your needs/requests.

Optional Class$100
Thursday, September 24:  8:30 AM - 4 PM     Heather Yule
