Heather Yule

This year there will be two Elementary Class offerings; one for those harpers who are self taught, do not have a harp teacher, and those who want to concentrate on basic harp technique; the other for those who have formally studied harp for at least a year. Heather will be teaching the class for those who have had a year of formal study. 

• traditional tunes with suitable left hand arrangements
• explanation of traditional tune forms - i.e. 'reel' or 'strathspey'
• tips on how to learn/practice new music
• harp techniques - i.e. damping; harmonics; glissandos; thumb or fourth finger slides; etc.
• basic ideas for arranging tunes for yourself ('fakebook' style) and ways to put together a very simple accompaniment
